This is where it all started in the summer of 2017.
I was sitting in the stands watching my oldest son participate in a football camp. I began thinking about how quickly time has flown, and how few pictures I have taken since the boys were both babies. As I watched my son learn many new techniques, I couldn't help but think, "and someday soon, these will all be just memories." I was so amazed at the athlete he was becoming and was starting to visualize the frozen moments in time, willing my memory to take that photo. That evening, I bought my first "fancy" digital camera.
Since then, I take my camera nearly everywhere there may be a memory to capture. I ask a lot of questions, take a lot of risks and reach out to professional photographers willing so serve as mentors, specifically Tim Park, and Kendra Cates. Today, I seek out seminars and learn from industry professionals such as Chris Dickson, Joel Grimes, and Sportrait icons at Rocktown media Jaison Sterling and Brad Deel. Learning photography techniques and taking my craft to the next level has become important to me - as a teacher and former competitor, being a lifelong learner and striving to be the best comes naturally.
I quickly learned sport photography was my passion, specifically as it serves students and families. I enjoy attending sporting events to capture these moments for parents so that they can enjoy watching the event, without the worry of trying to take pictures, too. However, as my photography evolves, so does my excitement for serving families. My husband and family has helped build a new studio where I shoot sportraits and senior pictures. To say I LOVE senior photography is an understatement, especially when it links to sports photography.
Check out my work, as it is always evolving.
